The following is helpful information on what organizations may choose:

Organizations that move their dial tone to Skype for Business Online cloud voice:

  • Simply need dial tone, not robust call routing options
  • Have only US phone numbers
  • Already use Exchange Online for email (and ideally, voicemail)
  • Want their phone #s ported to Office 365, and to pay their phone bill as part of their Microsoft subscription

Organizations that use a hybrid:

  • Have some users who don’t need voice functionality that reside in the cloud
  • Have more robust call routing needs, 
  • Need integration to an on-premises PBX or to local SIP or PSTN trunks
  • Need survivable branch appliances at some sites

Organizations that use Skype for Business on premises:

  • Need contact center functionality 
  • Use Skype’s APIs to integrate with business applications
  • Prefer the flexibility to own their own PSTN trunking and systems

And that is the honest truth! To working with us and our schedules, to your knowledge of Lync and all MS for that matter. Even when John came back with that difference between that Microsoft tool and the Kontinuum devices. That may have been small to you guys, but that was pivotal for me and made my argument undeniable for their usage!!!
